Before I obtained my Keurig brewing system I did not know just what a K cup was, I’d never even heard of them before. Much to my delight I have recently learned that Dunkin Donuts K cups are now available and I am completely delighted.
So what exactly is a K cup anyway? For anybody that does not know, a K cup is just a single serving plastic cup filled with your preferred mix of coffee. They look pretty simple but the style is actually fairly complicated and the complexity of the design is what keeps the coffee fresh and great tasting. The cup itself is just plastic container however there are a number of layers which aid the brewing procedure. The first layer is a boundary which prevents oxygen, light and humidity from penetrating the container and reaching the coffee. The following layer is a built in coffee filter which helps control water movement, pressure and also extraction time. These extremely well designed containers lead to a perfectly brewed cup of joe every time. The gourmet coffee I make at home using my Dunkin Donuts K cups taste exactly like what I’d get if I went several miles out of my way to the nearest Dunkin Donuts.
I have been utilizing K cups of all sorts of various flavors and I have loved a lot of them but it was not until recently that I went to the Dunkin web site and learned that they were making Dunkin Donut K cups available. When i went to their web site I saw a message that said they’d be offering 14 count packages of the K cups and that they will be available in five popular flavors including their original blend, the decaf blend, French vanilla, hazelnut as well as Dunkin Dark. Fortunately for me I love every one of these flavors and now I may have them anytime I want to. For coffee addicts like myself I am unsure if the accessibility of these single serving cups will be a blessing or a curse but I could not be more pleased.
